This Secondary school in Northampton is an inclusive comprehensive school with approximately 1100 students. We are looking to appoint a Teacher of Science. The ideal candidate will contribute to the development of highly motivated students and will be passionate about teaching engaging lessons that help students understand the importance of Science and the positive impact it can have throughout their life.

Key Tasks:

  • Prepare and deliver lessons to a range of classes of different ages and abilities
  • Mark work, give appropriate feedback and maintain records of pupils' progress and development
  • Research new topic areas, maintaining up-to-date subject knowledge, and devise and write new curriculum materials
  • Prepare pupils for qualifications and external examinations
  • Manage pupil behaviour in the classroom and on school premises, and apply appropriate and effective measures in cases of misbehaviour
  • Communicate with parents and carers over pupils' progress

About You:

  • Well-qualified graduate with appropriate degree
  • PGCE/Qualified Teacher Status
  • Experience with curriculum development work
  • Experience across the age and ability range
  • Ability to work in a team Excellent classroom skills
  • Creativity and flexibility
  • Commitment to developing teaching and learning

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
